Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in Mumbai held the auction Boundless: India, which included the work Untitled (Ganesha) by Jogen Chowdhury. The price achieved of INR 1,625,000.00 (€ 20,498.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as INR 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jogen Chowdhury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Day Dreaming" in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 373,250.00 (€ 437,996.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in Mumbai die Auktion Boundless: India durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Ganesha) von Jogen Chowdhury zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von INR 1.625.000,00 (€ 20.498,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit INR 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jogen Chowdhury erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Day Dreaming" im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 373.250,00 (€ 437.996,36).
