Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Eagle) by Jogen Chowdhury. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,479.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jogen Chowdhury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Day Dreaming" in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 373,250.00 (€ 437,996.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Eagle) von Jogen Chowdhury zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 25.479,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jogen Chowdhury erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Day Dreaming" im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 373.250,00 (€ 437.996,36).
