Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Flowers & Fish by Jogen Chowdhury. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,901.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jogen Chowdhury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Day Dreaming" in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 373,250.00 (€ 437,996.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers & Fish von Jogen Chowdhury zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 5.901,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jogen Chowdhury erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Day Dreaming" im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 373.250,00 (€ 437.996,36).
