Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Danielle, Montalivet by Jock Sturges for USD 828.75 (€ 732.24). This price was achieved in the auction The Gift of Photographs at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jock Sturges achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fanny, Montalivet, 2001 in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 31,675.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Danielle, Montalivet von Jock Sturges für USD 828,75 (€ 732,24) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Gift of Photographs bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jock Sturges erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fanny, Montalivet, 2001 im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 31.675,64).
