Auction result misses estimated price range
In August last year a collector was able to acquire the work Group of 4 Works: Misty Dawn, Northern California 1996; Marine, Clermond-Ferrand, France 1989; Nicole, Montalivet, France 1989; Adele et Franny, Montalievet, France 2008 by Jock Sturges for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,266.77). This price was achieved in the auction PhotographsSummer Cut at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jock Sturges achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fanny, Montalivet, 2001 in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 31,675.64).
