Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work The Agony In The Garden by Joachim Beuckelaer. The price achieved of GBP 12,500 (€ 14,346) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as GBP 10,000 - 15,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joachim Beuckelaer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Four Elements: A Greengrocer's Stall with the Flight into Egypt beyond - an Allegory of Earth; A Fishmonger's Stall in a town with the Miraculous Draught of Fishes beyond - an Allegory of Water; A Poultry Stall in a town with the Prodigal Son bey in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 2,973,750 (€ 4
