In December 2007 Artcurial in Paris held the auction 20th Century Indian Art, which included the work Tarpana by Jivya Soma Mashe. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,337.00 24% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jivya Soma Mashe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Ant, 2007, which sold at auction in April 2008 for EUR 13,631.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion 20th Century Indian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tarpana von Jivya Soma Mashe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.337,00 und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jivya Soma Mashe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Ant, 2007 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für EUR 13.631,00 versteigert wurde.
