This artwork by Jimmy Nelson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Lempertz in Cologne in May 2019. In the Photographie auction, the work Yangshuo Cormorants, China sold for EUR 2,976.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Jimmy Nelson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Altantsogsts, Bayan Olgii, Mongolia, 2011 in May 2017 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,792.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jimmy Nelson erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Lempertz in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographie wurde die Arbeit Yangshuo Cormorants, China für EUR 2.976,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jimmy Nelson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Altantsogsts, Bayan Olgii, Mongolia, 2011 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.792,43).
