Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Football Player by Jimmy Lee Sudduth was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 277.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jimmy Lee Sudduth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White House in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,580.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Football Player von Jimmy Lee Sudduth im Januar 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 375,00 (€ 277,78) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jimmy Lee Sudduth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White House im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.580,51).
