Despite a disappointment, a good price for Jill Giegerich
In July 2019 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Jill Giegerich for USD 625.00 (€ 561.55). This price was achieved in the auction Colossal! Monumental Works from the 1980s at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Jill Giegerich that we have observed at auction so far.
