In August 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Cellar Door by Jerome Myers. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,776.62) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jerome Myers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Playground in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 30,550.00 (€ 36,000.47).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im August 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Cellar Door von Jerome Myers zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.776,62) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jerome Myers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Playground im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.550,00 (€ 36.000,47).
