Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sensurround, Deny Me & I'm not some Child, 2007 by Jenny Watson was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne in August 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 3,075.00 (€ 2,605.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jenny Watson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Spider Trap in August 2001 with an auction result of AUD 30,550.00 (€ 17,735.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sensurround, Deny Me & I'm not some Child, 2007 von Jenny Watson wurde im August 2021 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 3.075,00 (€ 2.605,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jenny Watson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Spider Trap im August 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 30.550,00 (€ 17.735,13).
