In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work French sermon Sur L'Abstinence by Jehan-Georges Vibert. The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,942.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jehan-Georges Vibert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Gulliver And The Lilliputians in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 961,587.87).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit French sermon Sur L'Abstinence von Jehan-Georges Vibert zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.942,07) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jehan-Georges Vibert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French Gulliver And The Lilliputians im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 961.587,87).
