Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jeff Wall achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in June 2019. In the Edition Schellmann: Fifty Are Better Than One auction, the work Torso sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,215.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeff Wall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dead Troops Talk (A vision after an ambush of a Red Army patrol, near Moqor, Afghanistan, winter 1986) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,666,500.00 (€ 2,965,464.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jeff Wall erzielte im Juni 2019 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Edition Schellmann: Fifty Are Better Than One wurde die Arbeit Torso für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.215,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jeff Wall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dead Troops Talk (A vision after an ambush of a Red Army patrol, near Moqor, Afghanistan, winter 1986) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.666.500,00 (€ 2.965.464,25).
