Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now: The Katayama Collection, which included the work “Compas” cafeteria table, model no. 512 by Jean Prouvé. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,163.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Prouvé achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 6X6 Demountable House in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 4,375,000.00 (€ 500,056.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now: The Katayama Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit “Compas” cafeteria table, model no. 512 von Jean Prouvé zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.163,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Prouvé erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 6X6 Demountable House im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.375.000,00 (€ 500.056,03).
