Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Portrait of a lady, circa 1815 by Jean Pierre Thiboust. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 882.00 (€ 985.27). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Pierre Thiboust - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Femme en bacchante jouant du tambourin, which sold at auction in June this year for EUR 3,674.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, circa 1815 von Jean Pierre Thiboust zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 882,00 (€ 985,27) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Pierre Thiboust mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Femme en bacchante jouant du tambourin beobachtet, die im Juni diesen Jahres für EUR 3.674,00 versteigert wurde.
