Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Jean-Pierre Menuisier was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,231.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Pierre Menuisier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Man, which sold at auction in January 2014 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,629.63).
