This artwork by Jean-Pierre Dantan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2012. In the Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work Caricature of a man playing the double-bass sold for GBP 2,625.00 (€ 3,237.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Pierre Dantan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Monde De La Musique, which sold at auction in March 2017 for EUR 6,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-Pierre Dantan erzielte im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours wurde die Arbeit Caricature of a man playing the double-bass für GBP 2.625,00 (€ 3.237,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Pierre Dantan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Monde De La Musique beobachtet, die im März 2017 für EUR 6.500,00 versteigert wurde.
