Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Study For The Central Figure In The Ceiling Of The Palais De La Legion D'Honneur by Jean-Paul Laurens for USD 4,375.00 (€ 2,947.91). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jean-Paul Laurens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vive Le Roi in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 15,054.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Study For The Central Figure In The Ceiling Of The Palais De La Legion D'Honneur von Jean-Paul Laurens für USD 4.375,00 (€ 2.947,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Paul Laurens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vive Le Roi im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 15.054,66).
