Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Jean-Michel Basquiat was sold in the 21st Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 11,910,000.00 (€ 10,918,591.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Michel Basquiat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 110,487,500.00 (€ 98,333,481.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jean-Michel Basquiat wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.910.000,00 (€ 10.918.591,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000.000,00 – 15.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Basquiat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.487.500,00 (€ 98.333.481,67).
