The work Seated Punchinello by Ernest Meissonier was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2019. The auction ended at the price of USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,746.11), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Meissonier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French les Deux Amis in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 442,000.00 (€ 418,481.35).

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.746,11) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00.
