Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints, which included the work The plastermaker’s horse (‘Le cheval du plâtrier’) by Théodore Géricault. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,305.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théodore Géricault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait d'Alfred et Elisabeth Dedreux in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 9,025,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The plastermaker’s horse (‘Le cheval du plâtrier’) von Théodore Géricault zur Versteigerung kam.
