Auction result well in line with expectations

The work A Farewell: An African Couple embracing in a Landscape by Théodore Géricault was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 252,000.00 (€ 295,522.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théodore Géricault achieve.
