Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work Venus At The Forge of Vulcan by Jean Jouvenet was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2008. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 85,000.00 (€ 54,599.18). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Jouvenet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Père Éternel, which sold at auction in November 2011 for EUR 186,418.00.

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Venus At The Forge of Vulcan von Jean Jouvenet kam im April 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 85.000,00 (€ 54.599,18) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Jouvenet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Père Éternel beobachtet, die im November 2011 für EUR 186.418,00 versteigert wurde.
