Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jean Jouvenet could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Apotheosis Of St. Nicholas changed hands for USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,767.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Jouvenet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Père Éternel in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 186,418.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean Jouvenet konnte im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wechselte die Arbeit Apotheosis Of St. Nicholas für USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.767,94) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Jouvenet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Père Éternel im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 186.418,00.
