The auction ended at the price of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 178,127.58), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The King Of Morocco Leaving To Receive A European Ambassador, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 375,000.00 (€ 434,973.11).
