Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A Janissary by Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant. The price achieved of USD 118,750.00 (€ 103,793.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The King Of Morocco Leaving To Receive A European Ambassador in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 375,000.00 (€ 434,973.11).

Im April 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Janissary von Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 103.793,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden.
