Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction West ~ East - The Niall Hobhouse Collection, which included the work Two designs for tazzas with cloven hoof stands and two designs for elaborate urns with snake's head handles; and Eight designs for sauce boats, tazzas, tureens and wine coolers by Jean-Guillaume Moitte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,498.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Guillaume Moitte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cornelie, Mere Des Gracques in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 37,176.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion West ~ East - The Niall Hobhouse Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two designs for tazzas with cloven hoof stands and two designs for elaborate urns with snake's head handles; and Eight designs for sauce boats, tazzas, tureens and wine coolers von Jean-Guillaume Moitte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.498,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Guillaume Moitte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cornelie, Mere Des Gracques im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 37.176,00.
