Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction West ~ East - The Niall Hobhouse Collection, which included the work Design for an elaborate surtout-de-table by Jean-Guillaume Moitte. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,565.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Guillaume Moitte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cornelie, Mere Des Gracques in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 37,176.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion West ~ East - The Niall Hobhouse Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Design for an elaborate surtout-de-table von Jean-Guillaume Moitte zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.565,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Guillaume Moitte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cornelie, Mere Des Gracques im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 37.176,00.
