Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Fantasia, 1977 by Jean Gaston Mantel for MAD 30,000.00 (€ 2,836.19). This price was achieved in the auction Majorelle & his Contemporaries at Artcurial in Marrakech and was even below the estimate range of MAD 33,000.00 – 55,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Gaston Mantel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fantasia, 1968 in December 2009 with an auction result of EUR 60,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fantasia, 1977 von Jean Gaston Mantel für MAD 30.000,00 (€ 2.836,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Majorelle & his Contemporaries bei Artcurial in Marrakesch erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von MAD 33.000,00 – 55.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Gaston Mantel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fantasia, 1968 im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.450,00.
