Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La Villa - Environs De Paris by Jean François Raffaëlli was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,031.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean François Raffaëlli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Place De L'Opéra, Paris in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,266,109.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La Villa - Environs De Paris von Jean François Raffaëlli im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.031,85) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean François Raffaëlli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Place De L'Opéra, Paris im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.266.109,24).
