Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Woman Carrying Firewood and a Pail by Jean-François Millet was auctioned at Christies in Paris in October this year. The price achieved of USD 504,000.00 (€ 476,911.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-François Millet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'Horizon (La plaine), which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 1,985,000.00 (€ 1,584,197.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Woman Carrying Firewood and a Pail von Jean-François Millet kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 504.000,00 (€ 476.911,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-François Millet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L'Horizon (La plaine) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 1.985.000,00 (€ 1.584.197,92) versteigert wurde.
