Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Escargot, 1999 by Jean-François Fourtou for EUR 5,576.00. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art: Jean Albou Collection at Artcurial in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-François Fourtou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brebis Galeuse, 1995, which sold at auction in January 2008 for EUR 19,827.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Escargot, 1999 von Jean-François Fourtou für EUR 5.576,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art: Jean Albou Collection bei Artcurial in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-François Fourtou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Brebis Galeuse, 1995 beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für EUR 19.827,00 versteigert wurde.
