Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work French La Lecture by Jean Eugène Buland. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 54,925.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jean Eugène Buland have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2015 the work Le Rétameur was auctioned for EUR 67,500.00.

Im Februar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit French La Lecture von Jean Eugène Buland zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 54.925,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Jean Eugène Buland konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im März 2015 die Arbeit Le Rétameur für EUR 67.500,00 versteigert.
