Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work The Basket Weaver, Tangier by Jean Discart. The price achieved of GBP 138,600.00 (€ 164,325.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Discart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French l'Atelier De Poterie, Tanger, which sold at auction in April 2012 for GBP 325,250.00 (€ 398,910.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Basket Weaver, Tangier von Jean Discart zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 138.600,00 (€ 164.325,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Discart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French l'Atelier De Poterie, Tanger beobachtet, die im April 2012 für GBP 325.250,00 (€ 398.910,07) versteigert wurde.
