On y joint un médaillon en plâtre au profil de Ringel d'Illzach, titré sur le pourtour " Ringel d'Illzach, médailleur 1890 ". Diam. 16,9 cm (6,65 in.). Un exemplaire de cet autoportrait au béret et à la cigarette fut présenté pour la première fois au Salon de 1891.

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 5.850,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Désiré Ringel d'Illzach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Frenchmonumental Vase With Bacchic Revellers im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 44.510,98).
