Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Souk De Marrakech, 1921 by Jean Berque was sold in the Modern Art auction at Artcurial in Paris in February 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,233.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Berque - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The harbor of Marseille, which sold at auction in February 2011 for USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,900.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Souk De Marrakech, 1921 von Jean Berque wurde im Februar 2007 in der Auktion Modern Art bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.233,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Berque mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The harbor of Marseille beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.900,02) versteigert wurde.
