Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Marie-Joseph Chénier (1764–1811), A Quill In His Left Hand by Jean-Baptiste Huet was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,409.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Huet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Une Caravanne in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 590,500.00 (€ 452,386.42).
