Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work The See-Saw; and The Russian Dance by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 348,500.00 (€ 307,536.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2020 the work Portrait Of A Woman On A Divan was auctioned for USD 625,000.00 (€ 523,100.10).
