Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection, which included the work Mère Et Enfants À La Ferme by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,654.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Woman On A Divan in November 2020 with an auction result of USD 625,000.00 (€ 523,100.10).

Im Juli 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mère Et Enfants À La Ferme von Jean-Baptiste Le Prince zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.654,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Le Prince erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Woman On A Divan im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 625.000,00 (€ 523.100,10).
