Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & British Paintings, which included the work A Russian encampment with a figure on horseback and others around a fire by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,342.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Woman On A Divan in November 2020 with an auction result of USD 625,000.00 (€ 523,100.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Russian encampment with a figure on horseback and others around a fire von Jean-Baptiste Le Prince zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.342,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Le Prince erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Woman On A Divan im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 625.000,00 (€ 523.100,10).
