Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Evening Sale, which included the work A Lady, Wearing A Red Dress, In An Interior by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 32,047.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Woman On A Divan in November 2020 with an auction result of USD 625,000.00 (€ 523,100.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Lady, Wearing A Red Dress, In An Interior von Jean-Baptiste Le Prince zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 32.047,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Le Prince erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Woman On A Divan im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 625.000,00 (€ 523.100,10).
