This artwork by Jean-Baptiste Joseph Le Tellier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait Of A Young Boy, Circa 1795 sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,358.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Joseph Le Tellier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A mother and child; she, facing right in black sleeveless gown with white underdress, pink stole, long light brown curling hair; holding her young baby beside her with white robe draped across his body, auburn hair; rock, foliate and landscape backgr in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00
