Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Lady by Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,926.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A magnificent miniature of a young lady holding a quill in her right hand and balancing her artist's portfolio on her lap with her left hand, facing right in white muslin dress, large gem-set gold belt, powdered curling hair dressed 'à la conseilleu in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 58,750.00
