In the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,682.95) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A magnificent miniature of a young lady holding a quill in her right hand and balancing her artist's portfolio on her lap with her left hand, facing right in white muslin dress, large gem-set gold belt, powdered curling hair dressed 'à la conseilleu in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 58,750.00
