In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman sold for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,752.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A magnificent miniature of a young lady holding a quill in her right hand and balancing her artist's portfolio on her lap with her left hand, facing right in white muslin dress, large gem-set gold belt, powdered curling hair dressed 'à la conseilleu, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 58,750.00 (€
