Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Boy, Seated Three-Quarter Length, Beside A Table With Cards And A Girl, Seated Three-Quarter Length, Holding A Book; A Pair Of Paintings by Jean-Baptiste Charpentier was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,380.23) Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Charpentier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Marie Thérèse Louise of Savoy, Princesse de Lamballe (1749-1792), seated full-length, in a lilac dress in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 175,906.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Boy, Seated Three-Quarter Length, Beside A Table With Cards And A Girl, Seated Three-Quarter Length, Holding A Book; A Pair Of Paintings von Jean-Baptiste Charpentier im Februar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
