In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures, which included the work An Interest In Old News by Jean Baptiste Antoine Emile Béranger. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,556.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Baptiste Antoine Emile Béranger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lost in thoughts, which sold at auction in April 2002 for EUR 9,560.00.
