In the Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction, the work Unknown changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,051.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Antoine Laurent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The artist's daughters as young girls: the elder in green bordered loose white dress with green ribbon bow and long curling fair hair, seated on a wooden chair strewn with pink roses and leaves and pink roses and leaves in her lap; the younger girl h in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 35,8
