Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sin Título, (Mujer En Tina) by Javier Peláez was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,362.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Javier Peláez have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2010 the work without title was auctioned for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,116.50).
